Texas HB 1481 and secure storage for personal communication devices
Texas HB 1481 requires school districts and open-enrollment charter schools to adopt and implement written policies prohibiting student use of personal communication devices on school property during the school day. TEA guidance says school systems may comply by prohibiting devices from campus or by designating a secure storage method.
Why storage matters
A written policy still needs a daily workflow. Secure phone cabinets give schools a visible place to collect, number, store, and return devices without relying on loose bins or individually managed classroom procedures.
CellPhoneCabinet fit
Offline Mode supports local NFC and PIN access when internet access is limited or intentionally restricted. Smart Mode can be selected when the school wants connected status, records, and administrative reporting.
